With the increasing use of machinery, springs are finding place in most of the industries as an important component. In case of Torsion Springs, the strength is determined by the wire gauge. It is used in mousetraps, safety pins, cloth pins, garage doors etc. Its working is very simple. It is attached with few components which apply a force on torsion spring. In turn, this spring pushes them back and helps them in achieving original position.
Extension Springs are designed in a way that they resist the pulling force. When we stretch out the extension spring, its resistance against the pulling force increases i.e. its tension gets increased. This initial tension shows the load capacity of the spring. Trampoline is one of the examples that show its application.
